Leading estate data analytics firm UrbanMetry, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was chosen as one of the” Technology Pioneers” by the World Economic Forum. The 2014-launched startup, led by Koh Cha-Ly( pic ), a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Master of City Planning graduate, uses geographic data and cutting-edge insights to offer insights to enhance city planning and management. Among the 100 winners chosen from a lake of hundreds of businesses from 31 different nations, it is the only Indonesian business.

A female deputy executive is in charge of one-third of them. With 29 organizations, the US has the highest agency, followed by 12 in China.

Early-stage businesses that are at the head of new technologies and technology and are poised to have a significant impact on business and culture make up the Technology Pioneers society, which the World Economic Forum established in 2000.

Verena Kuhn, Head of Innovator Communities at the World Economic Forum, said,” We’re excited to welcome UrbanMetry to our 2023 group of Technology Pioneers.” ” UrbanMetry and its fellow innovators are at the forefront of innovation and disruption required to help us address the most urgent problems in the world.” We are interested in their involvement in the content creation of the Forum, which unites the public and private sectors to address these pressing world problems.

Cha-Ly, who has the distinction of being the only startup founder to serve on the table of Time Dotcom Bhd, a publicly traded company in Malaysia, since 2020, said,” We are deeply honored to receive the prestigious Technology Pioneer medal, which validates our steadfast commitment to transforming industrial settings through innovative systems.” Next month, she resigned.

Cha – Ly, who counts several of Malaysia’s property developers and the World Bank as consumers, said,” This acknowledgment motivates us to continue pushing restrictions and driving good change, making places smarter, green, and better for all.” In February 2022, the startup raised a funding round totaling US$ 2 million( RM9.3 million ), and it had previously done so from 500Global.

Cha – Ly may be invited to participate in the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer, collaborating with world leaders to address important social and business issues. Leading public and private sector partners will be brought up by Technology Pioneers to participate in Forum events and debate throughout the year.
