Why this Singapore-India fashion label made taking care of its artisans a top priority

Gujral returned to India to assist in the home business after earning her bachelor’s degree in fashion control at the LASALLE College of the Art in Singapore. Additionally, she obtained a marketing position at Dior, a high-end style label.

” It was an exciting time – who would n’t be thrilled to work at Dior”? Gujral said. But I had the worst browsing habits and the worst sense of style.

I had so many things and would quickly throw them away. I did n’t stop to think about who created the parts, whose arms weaved the textiles and fabrics up.”

She left Christian three years later and headed to Milan, Italy, for her master’s degree in fashion control at the SDA Bocconi School of Management. By that time, the lure of expensive garments had faded, and Gujral was considering starting her own clothing line. &nbsp,

One of her first groups in Milan was a turning point. A teacher asked the school:” Who made your clothing?”

That simple question catapulted her up to her youth, she said”. I’d see all the outfits around me and I knew: My grandmother made this gown, my Nani made that shirt, the tailor named Tahir designed that material.

When I first started any clothing company, I knew that I wanted to put the people behind the garments at the forefront.
