She continued,” For Singapore’s part, that was a good thing we did because I was the first head of state( of Singapore) to travel to Saudi Arabia.” She even traveled to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, and the Netherlands. & nbsp,

She continued,” We bring our ideas to improve the bilateral ties in all of these countries.” & nbsp,

Mdm Halimah even thought back on her travels to China and her encounters with President Xi Jinping, who invited her to speak at both the Beijing Winter Olympics and the Asian Civilizations speech. & nbsp,

She added that she was grateful for the opportunity to speak at the meeting and discuss how Singapore manages its multiracial and multireligious world.” The first one was really very much aligned to our values( and) ideals, and that is coherence ,” she said. & nbsp,

She had” very great conversations” with President Xi at both meetings, Mdm Halimah continued, describing them as being very cordial and friendly. & nbsp,

She also shared that despite his repeated invitations for her to attend the state, she was unable to do so due to COVID-19 evacuations in Singapore and China. & nbsp,

” There is a really great relationship between Singapore and China.” At the meetings I had with him, he reinforces that, and for that reason, I believe it is best that we keep doing that ,” said Mdm Halimah. & nbsp,

She continued,” China is a huge country with vast resources, and even though it may be experiencing slowdown following the COVID-19 crisis, it has” a great deal” of prospects for the business and enhancing bilateral ties. & nbsp,

Mdm Halimah noted the conflicts between the US and China and stated that President Xi is aware that Singapore will cooperate with all parties. & nbsp,

” I sincerely hope that relations between the two nations, the major powers, improve because that will benefit our entire region as well.”
