MDEC partners Acxyn to help increase adoption of creative technologies in Malaysia

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Acxyn, a pioneering web3 company, have announced a collaboration in an effort to spearhead the growth and widespread adoption of creative technologies in Malaysia. This partnership combines MDEC’s expertise in digital transformation with Acxyn’s innovations.

MDEC, Malaysia’s leading government agency in advancing the digital economy, is committed to accelerating the nation’s digital transformation journey. In line with this vision, MDEC has embarked on a metaverse initiative to shape Malaysia’s presence in the metaverse sector and foster digital creativity on a larger scale.

Acxyn is a Malaysian-based web3 company, revolutionizing the gaming industry as the world’s first IP tokenization platform. Acxyn is redefining game monetization and investment by introducing cutting-edge solutions that elevate IPs’ visibility and value, enabling gaming studios to tap into new revenue streams.

Acxyn has been awarded a grant of US$160,000 (RM750,000) by MDEC which underscores the agency’s commitment to supporting and nurturing innovative companies like Acxyn, which was one of the only web3 startups accepted into the MDEC program.

John Schneider, CEO of Acxyn, said, “We’re excited that MDEC shares our vision for a future in which game intellectual properties (IPs) can fully realize their economic potential and establish Malaysia as a hub for innovation and excellence in the game industry.”

Through this collaboration, Acxyn seeks to lend its expertise to MDEC’s metaverse initiative. Beyond this, Acxyn is determined to facilitate the infusion of foreign IPs and foreign investments into Malaysia. The ultimate objective is to position Malaysia as a global gaming hub that attracts international game studios and investments, thereby fueling the nation’s digital growth.

Ts. Mahadhir Aziz, CEO of MDEC said, “This collaboration serves as a testament to MDEC’s commitment in driving digital transformation and fostering a thriving creative ecosystem. Through the Malaysia Digital (MD) national strategic initiative and PEMANGKIN programmes, we look forward to continuing to support Acxyn’s growth, driving the adoption of creative technologies and propelling Malaysia to the forefront of the web3 revolution.”

As Malaysia continues to experience growth in its creative sectors and embraces the potential of web3 technologies, this collaboration stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.
