Cradle, Microsoft collaborate to empower Malaysian startups

Cradle Finance Sdn Bhd (Cradle), the agency under the Ministry of Technology, Technology and Development (Mosti) in Malaysia has committed to work together with Microsoft to provide startups with a worldwide platform to scale their innovations.  

With some Microsoft for Online companies Founders Hub within their MYStartup platform, digital natives in Malaysia will have access to upskilling opportunities and customised technical guidance, the particular tech giant said in a statement.  

Additionally , they will have access to the Microsoft Mentor System along with free entry to GitHub Enterprise and productivity boosts with Microsoft 365 and also Azure cloud credits of up to US$150, 000 (RM668, 000) per person to build many, it added.  

Based on Dr . Adham Baba, minister of Technology, Technology and Development, the cooperation between Cradle and Ms will ensure a sustainable startup ecosystem.  

“Startups should also make use of the expertise and information available at large businesses such as Microsoft to learn international markets, ” he said.  

“Mosti believes that this collaboration will be a catalyst for further active growth and development regarding startups in Malaysia and is in line with the government’s desire to empower the particular technology ecosystem within Malaysia, in addition to being a top startup ecosystem by 2030 and further attaining inclusive, responsible, and sustainable socio-economic growth, ” Adham  stated.

This individual added that the collaboration between Cradle and Microsoft is not only to provide access to digital technology for entrepreneurs, but also to ensure economic resilience, digital skills and knowledge can be mastered and further provide a reliable and secure digital environment for companies to thrive.

As Malaysia accelerates towards understanding its MyDigital goals, building a digital labor force across businesses and organisations will be type in empowering the nation’s inclusive digital economic climate.  

Therefore to help achieve this, startups under Cradle will have access to Microsof company Azure Fundamental programs, to build digital literacy on cloud computing, infrastructure as a provider (IaaS), platform being a service (PaaS), plus software as a service (SaaS).  

These programs will equip taking part startups with the abilities to realise their own ambitions and innovate product offerings whilst getting awarded a globally recognised certification that will affirms their digital competencies.

Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, acting group chief executive officer of Cradle mentioned the company often observes startup companies in Malaysia facing challenges in realising their particular ideas.  

“Most of them have potential and are also competitive but struggle to make full use of existing technology. ”
