SINGAPORE: After 17 years in business, Cathay Cineplexes in AMK Hub will begin operations at the end of June- the company’s third film closing in the last two decades.
Our last day of operations will be June 30 and 2024, according to a Facebook post from Cathay Cineplexes on Wednesday ( Jun 19 ), adding that screenings will continue on Sunday.
Following the shutdown at AMK Hub, Cathay Cineplexes may include  , five remaining shops in Singapore- at Causeway Point, Downtown East, West Mall, JEM and Century Square.  ,
When , the Parkway Parade shop closed in August 2023,  , mm2 Asia, which owns Cathay Cineplexes, said the selection was part of the party’s strategy to “right- length the cinema business in Singapore”.  ,
In response to CNA’s questions,  , Cathay Cineplexes on Thursday thanked its theater partners and vendors for their ongoing support and understanding.
The different Cathay Cineplexes locations in Singapore does not experience any service disruption, according to the statement. Stay tuned for new content coming out from our new sources.
The reasons for AMK Hub’s closing were no specified in the statement. Additionally, Cathay Cineplexes did not respond to CNA’s inquiries regarding AMK Hub staff and movie presence.

The film at AMK Hub , second opened its doors on Jun 16, 2007, featuring eight video halls and 1, 800 tickets, according to Cathay Organisation.
From now until Jun 30, Cathay Cineplexes is offering regular tickets at S$ 10 at the Ang Mo Kio store, a refund from the usual amount of between , S$ 11 and S$ 16.50.
