Thamanat vows crackdown on smuggled farm products

Slain highway policeman’s commander kills himself at home

Another development was the Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand’s( ACT ) request that the government take its commitment to combat corruption and bribery in state officials’ promotions more seriously than in the past.

The Nakhon Pathom event was cited by the ACT in a post on the organization’s Facebook page as proof of widespread interference with open agencies’ reshuffles of officials as well as the link between dubious businesses and the illegal benefits provided to state officials in charge of stifling the activities of these businesses.

According to the ACT, the Nakhon Pathom scenario is a prime example of how corrupt and lacking in good management the public administration system is.

In order to better safeguard fine state officials and guarantee their fairness when it comes to career advancement, it was further stated that all those with connections to illegal activity must be expelled from the system.

The ACT even urged Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to uphold his promise to indicate Thailand’s Anti-Corruption Day on September 6 and to ensure that unjust reshuffles and the buying and selling of key positions in state organizations would come to an end under his administration.

Additionally, Mr. Srettha vowed to do significant anti-corruption measures under his supervision.
