Aerodyne Group, the world’s leading drone solutions provider, announced its twenty-first global M&A today, entering the Italian market directly through a strategic investment in Aiviewgroup, the top drone service provider in Italy.

This is Aerodyne’s second foray into Italy after its June 2021 partnership offering its solutions to Italian asset tracking and mapping company, Easy City Srl (known as Dron-e).

In a statement, Aerodyne said, by joining forces with the Rome based Aiviewgroup both parties can harness synergies from their respective areas of expertise and technologies, and bring it to a wider global audience. The Italian commercial drone software and services market is projected to grow to US$595 million (RM2.64 billion) in 2026.

A track record of servicing high-profile clients, especially in infrastructure inspection makes Aiviewgroup an ideal partner, allowing Aerodyne to leverage Aiviewgroup’s advanced expertise in infrastructure inspection and market access to expand its capabilities and global reach.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Aiviewgroup to Aerodyne. Through this partnership Aiviewgroup will be able to capitalise on the Aerodyne’s deep and proven track record in drone and data technology for nested drone systems and advanced mobility to expand into new markets, including remote autonomous drone-based solutions, and AI-powered analytics which offer better value to their customers,” said Kamarul A Muhamed, founder and Group CEO of Aerodyne which is ranked #1 in the world by Drone Industry Insights (DII) in its Drone Service Provider Ranking in 2021 and 2022.

“Partnering with Aerodyne is an exciting opportunity for Aiviewgroup and our management team will continue to drive the company’s growth,” said Stefano Gennenzi, Aiviewgroup CEO.

“We are eager to combine our expertise and local market access with Aerodyne’s global presence and enviable track record of success.  We believe that the synergies between our companies will enable us to deliver even more value to our customers, and develop the most innovative and effective solutions for their needs,” said Nicola Marietti, Aiviewgroup’s General Manager.

The acquisition gives Aerodyne its first direct footprint in Europe after it sold is majority stake in Danish wind turbine inspection company, AtSite in April 2020.  In Jan 2021 it entered into an agreement with German companies Quanto AG and Taku International LLC to offer its drone solutions to their markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In a report released in late 2021, the German Quality and Finance Institute, after surveying 12,000 Italian companies, included Aiviewgroup in its ranking of 600 companies with the greatest economic expansion in Italy over the three-year 2017-2020 period.
