PASIR PUTEH: A woman has been killed and 4 others, including a child, were injured within an accident involving 8 vehicles and twenty one bicycles in Sarana Kamunting here Thursday night (July 14).
Pasir Puteh Open fire and Rescue Station chief Azhar Elmi Mustofar said a lorry carrying a lot of iron fishing rods collided with an additional vehicle in the 9. 05am incident.
“The vehicles active in the incident were 2 lorries carrying sand and iron supports, 21 bicycles, a sports utility vehicle (SUV), 3 cars and 2 motorcycles.
“Thirteen personnel from the Pasir Puteh and Tok Bali fire and rescue stations had been deployed to the scene of the incident right after receiving a call educating them of the accident.
“There were five sufferers – a woman whom died, a child who was seriously injured plus three others who had been lightly injured, inch he said when contacted by Bernama.
He additional that all the victims were sent to the Tengku Anis Medical center in Pasir Puteh. Cleaning-up work at the location of the accident has been completed at 11am Thursday. – Bernama
