Samui to welcome more cruise ships

Each cruise coat attend to the island generates B3-5 million in tourist spending.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, 24 cruise boats are scheduled to visit Koh Samui in Surat Thani during the recent large time, helping the southwestern province move up two spots in the top ten list of most-visited Thai sites.

On the Celebrity Solstice at Nathon Pier in Tambon Ang Thong on Tuesday night, the island welcomed 2,830 foreign tourists. Nearly half of them had arranged a one-day island trip, using 80 trucks and some cars. Another party consisted of independent travelers who traveled by car, truck, or plane.

According to estimates, between 3 and 5 million baht are spent on each boat coat on one day.

The Celebrity Solstice, operated by US-based Celebrity Cruises, makes standard wires of Southeast Asia. After Samui, it may make contact with Laem Chabang in Chon Buri and send them to Vietnam. Overall, it will travel to Samui 11 days throughout the year.

Between next month and April 2025, Ratchaporn Poolsawadee, chairman of the Tourism Association of Koh Samui, announced that 24 cruise ships with between 1,300 and 3, 000 people had been scheduled to visit the area.

Surat Thani is then ranked 8th, away from 10th next year, in the list of Thailand’s top tourist destinations, with a 24.5 % boost in visitor numbers, according to the government.

The various nine counties are Bangkok, Chon Buri, Kanchanaburi, Phuket, Ayutthaya, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchaburi, Chiang Mai and Nakhon Ratchasima.
