PSA Singapore breaks its annual handling record, surpasses 40m TEU containers for the first time

SINGAPORE: PSA Singapore had a record-breaking 2024, with the company handling more than 40 million twenty-foot equivalent unit ( TEU) containers for the first time, it said on Friday ( Dec 27 )

This number breaks the company’s past history of 38.8 million Appearances in 2023.

The TEU is a scale used to calculate the payload capacity of container ships and connectors.

In its reports launch on Friday, PSA said the milestone shows” the company’s continuing development and operational quality”.

PSA added its success is driven by a” unwavering determination to ensuring resilient, useful, and green cargo flow”. &nbsp,

” This underlines PSA’s important role as a key facilitator of global commerce and connection, as well as a trusted spouse to its clients and participants”, the company said.

Shanghai is the biggest pot port in the world, according to the World Shipping Council.

PSA placed second in the stand, while the Port of Shanghai handled 49.16 million Appearances in 2023.

Ong Kim Pong, the CEO of PSA International Group, stated that the business will” enhance the synergies between our port businesses and our port-adjacent service.”
