Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister, and local officials in Phuket on Friday to discuss development projects aimed at easing traffic congestion in the area province.

Congestion is having an impact on the island’s important tourism industry, so the meeting at Phuket International Airport focused on finding solutions to improve traffic flow.

Short- and long-term plans to reduce street congestion, such as pipe building on the Kathu-Pa Tong way, were discussed by individuals, including Transport Minister Suriya Jungrangreangkit.

Mr Srettha urged different agencies to quicken hole construction, which began under the Yingluck Shinawatra state, with an initial expenditure of 8 billion ringgit, which is now 16 billion ringgit.

“ I am convinced the government’s plan to improve the island’s facilities will help increase the living conditions of local people, ” he said.

Phuket has a lot of potential for growth of its economy, but traffic jams have stifled prospective investors and travellers from visiting the island.

The pipe will help us achieve that purpose, he said, and the travel time to a place can be shortened from two hours to about 30 minutes.

The provincial government suggested that the prime minister conduct a review of the Indian Ocean’s use of seaplanes and construct a aircraft base.

A seaplane center, according to Mr. Srettha, may aid in connecting the Andaman Sea’s islands to the Gulf of Thailand, allowing visitors to fly from Phuket to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan in Surat Thani.

A seaplane basic would, he added, help to advance the South’s financial infrastructure.

In order to shorten the time it takes to get to the airport in the Thalang district, the premier even inspected the construction site of the new increased road.

Mr. Sophon claimed that money had been set aside for the construction of the increased road and tunnel, noting that the premier was also looking for different ways to reduce people’s travel times.

According to Phuket government Sophon Suwannarat, the leading stressed the value of improving infrastructure by resolving traffic issues.

Sattha Thongkham, the lieutenant governor, also urged the government to support important tasks for transport system.

The projects include the design of a new Sarasin Bridge, the study of a new Sarasin Bridge, the development of a transportation street on Highway 4027, the raised road at a bridge where Highways 402, 4027, and 4025 meet, and the development of a traffic street.
