Parts of Marine Parade, including Still Road South, flooded due to damaged water pipe

SINGAPORE: A broken water pipe led to flooding in parts of Marine Parade, including Marine Drive and Still Road South, on Friday ( Oct 4 ) night.

According to Marine Parade Member of Parliament ( MP ) Dr. Tan See Leng, the water pipe was damaged in a Facebook post at around 11.40am during lift retrofitting works at the pedestrian overhead bridge close to Block 67 Marine Drive.

He continued, Noting that Also Road South and the nearby HDB stones were impacted by this.

The water tube has been isolated, and fixes are continuing. According to Dr. Tan, who is also the manpower minister, there is no interruption to the water supply to local residential units.

” Staff at Marine Parade ( Community Centre ) are restoring counter services, as the path to the temporary office was previously impassable”.

Employees were seen clearing the floodwaters near Block 67 Marine Drive when CNA arrived at the scene at 3.30pm.
