- Hope to progress Malaysia’s capabilities in 4IR and fast-growing tech
- MIMOS increased by boosting R& D in specialized semiconductors
Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri yesterday officiated the MRANTI Recreation area Master Plan, accompanied by Dr Adham Baba, Minister of Technology, Technology and Advancement. The Master Strategy will focus on 3 core principles i actually. e. Innovation, Environmental Sustainability and Urban/Local Culture.
The Master Plan is expected to deliver an estimated gross growth value (GDV) associated with US$4. 31 billion (RM20 billion) along with land lease come back value of US$600 mil (RM2. 8 billion). As announced earlier, five technology clusters are being created in MRANTI Park, namely drone technologies, agriculture, health, bioscience and 4IR enablers.
“With this new Master Plan, we hope to progress Malaysia’s capabilities in 4IR and fast-growing technology – through IoT systems and end-to-end IP services to contract production facilities with advanced technology, ” said Ismail.
MRANTI Park will be made to attract young professionals, creating a steady channel for highly skilled skill. It will also be pre-loaded with modern infrastructure, which includes high-speed broadband plus 5G technology and also a research-intensive university.
Adham contributed that Mosti can be driving several crucial initiatives which are likely to impact 5, 1000 aspiring entrepreneurs, generate 50 proof-of-concepts, prototypes or products and engage with 1, 250 business owners while creating an economic value of RM500 mil.
“It is essential to provide an innovation-centered location with solid infrastructure in order to appreciate the concept of an integrated co-location. MRANTI Park is a meeting point intended for innovators, researchers plus investors. Thus, it can unite key stakeholders and strengthen the particular science, technology plus innovation (STI) ecosystem. These factors can attract foreign plus domestic direct expenditure needed to enhance the STI ecosystem and create the economy, ” Ismail said.
The 686-acre area has attracted the interest of many technologies companies, including Intervenn Biosciences, Aba Biosciences Dedication, BoomGrow, Spygene Laboratories, Vivantis Technology and Reszon. Several international tech businesses have also started discussions with MRANTI.
In his comments, Adham noted that the few days ago, the planet Intellectual Property Business (WIPO) published its Global Innovation Index (GII) where Malaysia
maintained the 36th place. He reiterated that will Mosti’s goal would be to make Malaysia one of the Top 20 rated countries in the GII by 2030. “Mosti believes we are able to enhance Malaysia’s position using the implementation of the MRANTI Park Master Plan. ”
MRANTI Park may also be developed in accordance with the particular United Nations Sustainable plus Environmental Development Goals (SDGs) and Environment, Sustainable and Governance (ESG) principles with all the goal to create an innovation centre plus technology hub based on sustainability, giving motivation and serving being a catalyst for market-driven innovation through sensible partnerships.
“This is in line with our country’s hope to become carbon-neutral plus zero Greenhouse Gasoline emissions by 2050 through preserving natural forests and implementing nature-based solutions, which includes complementing the planting of 100 mil trees by 2025, ” said Ismail.
Ismail and Adham furthermore witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding trade between MIMOS Worldwide and MyEG, Turkish Aerospace Industries (Turkiye), AT& S (Austria) and Efinix (USA).
“In line with the reconstructs that will be brought to MRANTI, MIMOS will also be strengthened by boosting R& D activities in neuro-scientific specialized semiconductors, microelectronics and ICT. The particular branding to ‘MIMOS Global’ will symbolise a new, more worldwide image, in keeping with technology that knows no boundaries, ” said Ismail.
MIMOS is expected to contribute to high value added upstream activities for example IC design, semiconductor fabrication, advanced product packaging and embedded techniques where demand is rising fast through increasingly complex business demand.
