Mario Lopez is helping lead the search for a new generation of Menudo

After a 12-year break, Menudo Productions announced the launch of a worldwide talent search to find the next iteration from the vocal group that helped launch Ough Martin to fame as a teen.
Lopez, that did his own period as a teen ideal when he starred as A. C. Slater on ’90s sitcom “Saved By the Bell, ” will sponsor updates on the look for social media platforms.
The worldwide hunt for “Menudo: A New Beginning” will begin later this month with online submissions. Select in-person season casting events will also be held, starting with one within San Juan, Puerto Rico.
“Like so many people around the world, I grew up as a huge Menudo lover, ” Lopez mentioned in a press release. “I am so excited and honored to become part of bringing this iconic Latin son band back to the planet! ”
The Puerto Rican boy music group dominated the preteen market back in the ’80s and ’90s and are known for introducing new faces as older talent moves on through the group.
Although this isn’t the very first time Menudo has been elevated, executives are taking a new approach, with programs for the band to “connect with followers in ways unimaginable just a decade ago, inch Menudo Productions CEO Paul Tarnopol mentioned in a statement.
And according to the press release, “unlike previous group incarnations, the new Menudo associates will be sharing in most concert, merchandise, and music revenue. inch
Tarnopol said the administration team “is devoted to the safety, well-being, and financial security of each-and-every person in Menudo. ”
“This is what we suggest by “A Brand new Beginning, ” he said.
