Man arrested for allegedly using fake Malaysian driving licence in application at Woodlands Checkpoint

SINGAPORE: The 41-year-old man had been arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint on Friday (Aug 12) right after he allegedly utilized a fake Malaysian driving licence to apply for a pass.

Police  received a report about a guy who allegedly tried to use the forged record to apply for a multiple journey pass on August 12, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) mentioned in a news release.

Preliminary investigations exposed that an Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer had discovered the forged traveling licence during the enrolment process for the complete.

SPF executed investigations in cooperation with  ICA and the man was imprisoned by officers from your Woodlands Police Division on the same day.

The man will be charged in court upon Saturday with the offence of using since genuine a solid document. If discovered guilty, he faces up to four yrs in prison, a fine, or both.

“The police will require tough enforcement activity against those who make an effort to enter Singapore unlawfully, ” SPF mentioned.
