Kayaker missing off the coast of Sentosa; search operation ongoing

SINGAPORE: An investigation into the disappearance of a paddler off Sentosa is ongoing.

A person was reported missing off the coast of Sentosa island, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force( SCDF ), which announced on Sunday( Oct 22) that it had been alerted at around 10.25 a.m.

A kayaker has been reported missing off Sentosa, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore( MPA ), which also stated that it was notified at that time.

In response to CNA questions, MPA said that it has activated its police art for the research and is coordinating efforts on behalf of the Police Coast Guard and the SCDF.

” An alert ship has been issued to record any incident of a person in grief in the region ,” according to the navigation broadcast.

For the search operation, divers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team( DART ) and an SCDF Marine Rescue Vessel were also deployed, according to SCDC.

The research is still being conducted.
