SURAT THANI: The tourist from the Holland, who accidentally pennyless his left ankle joint while on a mountain trek in the tropical isle district of Koh Phangan on Sunday, was brought down to safety by rescuers late in the evening, officials said.

The Dutchman, Jan Harm Kedde, 48, accompanied by a man compatriot, at about 1pm went up the Head wear Khom mountain from Moo 7 community in tambon Ko Phangan which offers an impressive sea view.

At about 3pm, the man accidentally slipped and fell on the rock. He shattered his left ankle joint.

The particular Ko Phangan rescue centre, on receiving a call for help, dispatched a team associated with rescuers, accompanied by officials from the provincial devastation prevention and minimization office and visitor police, for the save.
