Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison launches 5G in Bali

  • Bali is the sixth Indonesian city 5G services available 
  • 5G network solutions to significantly increase data visitors capacity 

Execs from Indosat Ooredoo Hutchinson, Ministry of Tourism Indonesia, Ministry ofCommunications and Information Technology of Indonesia and Huawei Indonesia at the launch of 5G services in Bali Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) has launched 5G providers in Bali to support the G20 Presidency agenda and Indonesia’s digital transformation.  

In a statement, the company mentioned Bali has become the 6th city where IOH launched 5G solutions, following the provision on Surakarta, Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and Balikpapan.

Leader director & chief executive officer (CEO) of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha said the organization is committed to perform an important role in propelling the 5G revolution in Indonesia as part of the government’s digital transformation agenda.  

“We are excited to present our 5G solutions in Bali. This launch is also part of our contribution plus support for the federal government of Indonesia because the host of the G20 Presidency while helping Bali’s economic recovery, ” he added.

Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of tourism plus creative economy from the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga S. Uno said, “I would like to express my gratitude to IOH as one of the leading telecommunications businesses that provide 5G solutions and have played a task in the success of the 17th G20 Summit in Bali November 2022. ”

“In the near future, I hope Indosat Ooredoo Hutchinson can continue to expand its 5G assistance to other areas within Indonesia, especially the top tourism destinations, inch he said.

The release of IOH’s 5G service also displayed several use situations in sectors highly relevant to Bali’s economic recovery such as tourism, farming, health, urban planning, and micro, little and medium corporations.  

IOH said the partners the likes of Huawei, Habibi Garden, Temara, Sensync, Rakata, plus Data28 supported these use cases.

Deputy chief excutive of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati said, “With 5G services through IOH, we hope that Bali can become a super tourist destination which will bring pride in order to Indonesia in the global arena. ”

Minister associated with communications and information technology of Indonesia Johnny G. Plate stated, “We appreciate Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s persistence in supporting Indonesia’s digital agenda simply by launching 5G providers in Bali to aid the series of activities in the G20 Presidency. ” 

Emulating the success of IOH’s 5G launches within five previous cities, the Bali release will introduce the most recent 5G network solutions in Indonesia, including a 1 Gbps FDD 5G Enormous MIMO.

The company claimed this particular technology can increase data traffic capacity and user experience significantly.

In addition to launching 5G services, IOH said it is working with a number of institutions to support the digitalisation of Bali.

This includes the signing of the cooperation agreement along with Udayana University, along with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with the Indonesian Institute of Business and Technology and the Bali State Polytechnic.  

Meanwhile, Indosat Business also signed a MoU with all the Bali Regional Advancement Bank for the electronic transformation of financial services.
