A van that can test positive for the human immunodeficiency virus ( HIV ) is expected to become more well-known in Singapore.
This comes as Action for AIDS ( AfA ), which provides the service, looks to increase frequency to meet rising demand. According to AfA executive producer Chronos Kwok, the van’s intention is to make more rounds each month in new locations.  ,
He told CNA,” With the vehicle, we are able to build at different places around Singapore and at more convenient and accessible times for those who are working.”
The truck even travels in offices on weekends and is stationed close to bars and clubs.
He continued,” The vehicle has made it easier for us to find new customers and made our existence in Singapore bigger.”
Currently, the non- governmental organisation ( NGO ) conducts 6, 000 HIV tests each year, in the vehicle and at its physical clinic. The goal is to increase frequency of testing for earlier diagnosis among at-risk parties.
Just a disease can be identified by conducting an HIV testing. The majority of Singapore’s clinics offer routine HIV screening, and some others offer anonymous services where users do n’t have to provide any identifying information.
Results can be provided in as little as 20 hours. Regardless of where an individual goes, results will be kept strictly confidential, the Ministry of Health ( MOH) said on its website.  ,
A HIV personal- screening pilot is even underway.  ,
