Pointing to the F1-themed activities in the West Coast Neighborhood Centre, Mr Iswaran said that neighborhood outreach is an important part of the F1 event.
“The goal is to bring the hype, excitement and the experience of F1 to all areas of Singapore, including our own heartlands, ” he said.
He or she noted that there is the GP roving pickup truck with race simulators which has been to about 17 locations, which includes community centres plus schools. F1 screenings have been held in Suntec City, PLQ Mall and Dempsey, and will be going to a lot more locations.
Mister Iswaran said that as being a major event that attracts international guests, the Grand Prix also draws some other kinds of activities like MICE events and a number of00 conferences.
This year, Singapore will web host the Milken Institute Asia Summit, as well as the Forbes Global TOP DOG Conference, both of which will be held days before the Singapore Grand Prix.
“The benefit overall is perfect for our tourism sector, in particular hospitality — so the hotels advantage, the air travel business, but also equally, the particular F& B and our retail sector as well, ” said Mr Iswaran.
“Overall, I think that is a positive impact for the broader hospitality as well as other sectors that are linked to the Formula 1 occasion. ”
