At least eight people perished and 80 others were hurt in a massive explosion at an Indian fireworks factory on Tuesday ( Feb 6), according to authorities. The explosion caused balls of lights to soar into the air.
Following the explosion at the firework plant, footage from American television showed a tower of flame, with army helicopters and dozens of ambulances dispatched to leave the injured.
At the mill in Harda in the state of Madhya Pradesh, top district police official Rajeshwari Mahobia stated to AFP that “eight incidents so far and about 80 hurt” are likely to increase.
Mohan Yadav, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, described the explosion’s reports as “very terrible news” and stated that doctors at burn models in nearby major hospitals had been instructed to “make required preparations.”
Yadav stated in a blog on X, previously Online,” Vehicles are being rushed to Harda from the surrounding areas, and the military has been contacted to negotiate for aircraft.”
He continued,” At least 20 vehicles were present, and 50 more were dispatched to assist the wounded.”
The Harda area hospital’s doctor, Dr. Manish Sharma, claimed that a steady stream of casualties had flooded the facility.
According to Sharma,” We have eight incidents at our doctor, and 90 people have been admitted here so far. We have referred 15 of them to a larger doctor.”

Fire vehicles were battling the intense fire, according to Kailash Chand Parte, a mature city official in charge of organizing rescue operations from the manufacturer.

He claimed that the manufacturer had between 200 and 300 employees, though it was unknown how many were present at the time of the explosion.
He continued,” The power of the explosion has damaged at least 10 structures around the intricate where the fire occurred.”
According to one police officer, those who were crushed during the stress to flee the roaring flames were among the dead, according to the Times of India.
Rescue teams were “yet to reach the actual blast site as ( the ) fire is on,” local police officer Abdul Raees Khan added to the newspaper, adding that some people died during the” stampede after the blast.”
