Crystal cocaine, a weapons, and ammunition were found at a motel in Bangkok’s Huai Kwang area on Monday night, along with Deputy Interior Minister Chada Thaised’s brother.

Norased Thaised was taken into custody on Monday night by Metropolitan Police Bureau police, along with two other men and two girls who were discovered in the same hotel room around 10pm. The resort’s label was never released.

Authorities also found six bits of crystal meth, known as “ice”, in the room along with an 11mm revolver and six rounds of ammunition.

Mr. Norased was accused of illegally bringing a gun and ammunition with him and of using and possessing the medication. The three other persons were identified solely as Kijja, Walit and Anchaleeporn.

According to the police, the arrest came after a drug-abusing group complaint was made.
