SINGAPORE: CNA has been named the global champion of the Best News Internet site or Mobile Provider at the World Organization of News Marketers (WAN-IFRA) Digital Media Awards Worldwide 2022. The announcement has been made at the Entire world News Media Congress in Zaragoza, Spain on Thursday (Sep 29).
WAN-IFRA is the global organisation of the world’s media and has 60 member publisher organizations representing 18, 500 publications in 120 countries.
Past winners of this coveted global electronic award are The Washington Post in 2021 and The Guardian in 2020.
CNA, which clinched the gold prize for Best News Web site or Mobile Program for Asia, taken part against the gold honor winners from six other regions – Africa, Europe, Middle East, Latin American, North America and South Asia – in order to win the global prize.
The local awards are evaluated by local juries and then later within the year, a different set of judges examines all the winners across the locations and selects the best of each category for the World Digital Media Awards.
