Bukit Panjang LRT services resume after train fault

SINGAPORE: Train services along the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit ( LRT ) line resumed on Wednesday ( Oct 23 ) morning, after a faulty train had disrupted services the night before.

Transportation company SMRT&nbsp reported on Wednesday at 5:30 a.m. that its engineers and technicians had been restoring the Bukit Panjang LRT system throughout the day.

The little section of energy rail was repaired by our engineers, and the defective train was then returned to the depot for more testing, the statement continued.

” Free standard bus companies have stopped, and regular train service has resumed at 5am.”

SMRT said&nbsp, a station was “immobilised” near Teck Whye place at about 5.20pm on Tuesday and a “rescue” coach deployed to move it back to the depot “also stalled” while it was on its way up.

Eventually, it stated that for serious repairs, passenger service had to end at 10 p.m. &nbsp,

A CNA readers, who asked to be known only as Kannan, said he was near Teck Whye LRT place around 5.15pm when he heard a loud sound. &nbsp,

Eventually, he realized an Metro train had stopped at the place after first believing it was a car accident. Before staff attempted to move the four-car coach, he claimed he first witnessed passengers being evacuated from the coach.

In an upgrade on Wednesday, SMRT said that there was no problem with the “rescue” station.

Our engineers examined the evacuation train and determined that it was a good-functioning train while it was being recovered immediately. Due to the deflated wheel from the defective train, it continued.

SMRT had to offer with&nbsp, a major disturbance in September &nbsp, when train service along a portion of the East-West Series were absent for six weeks, after a faulty coach caused extensive damage to the songs and other products. &nbsp,
