Blinken calls for G7 'clear voice' on Gaza

A UN General Assembly resolution calling for an fast” charitable peace” was approved by France, the only G7 member to do so next month.

While Japan, Britain, Italy, Germany, and Canada all abstained, the United States voted against it.

The G7 had explore” the need to respond to the needs of human populations in Gaza and to regard international humanitarian law ,” according to France, which announced Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna’s participation in Tokyo.

Colonna” does reiterate our criticism of Hamas’ criminal actions and the necessity of releasing the hostages ,” the statement continued.

Yoko Kamikawa, the Chinese counterpart, stated at the beginning of a working breakfast on the Gaza scenario that she desired” a truthful and heavy discussion.”

THE UKRAINE WAR

Dmytro Kuleba, the foreign secretary, is scheduled to attend a video conference to discuss the Ukraine conflict, which will be another important topic.

After arriving in Tokyo, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock declared that the G7 do talk about a” winter protection weapon” for Ukraine.

It is obvious that some ( parties ) are closely observing how we will continue to support Ukraine, Baerbock told reporters.

But, experts predicted that the G7 does tone down its rhetoric about China as hints start to surface that Beijing’s hostilities with the West may become easing.

These include President Xi Jinping’s scheduled conference with US President Joe Biden in San Francisco as well as future negotiations between the United States and China prior to the COP28 weather event.

Deepening relations with resource-rich and strategically located Central Asia will be another G7 matter, and local foreign ministers are expected to participate via video.
