Beijing half marathon: Top three stripped of medals after investigation

Following an investigation into the contentious outcome, the best three Beijing half marathon runners have been stripped of their awards.

The three American sports allegedly conspired to prevent China’s top runner, He Jie, from winning the race on Sunday.

Robert Keter, Willy Mnangat, and Dejene Hailu, from Kenya, were seen pointing to the collection and slowing down to storm He earlier.

Mnangat told the BBC that the pair ran as stents.

But the event’s organising council, who led the exploration, said that none of the three had been publicly registered as stents for He, so their steps breached the opposition rules.

The council said” all prizes, awards and prizes will be recovered”.

China’s state broadcaster CCTV even reported that all four had been “punished” and their effects had been cancelled.

The Chinese Athletics Association announced after the competition that it would work with the government to improve the country’s road running competitions.

” In general, the total function of street running events has been clean,” it said in a declaration.

” But issues in the management and organization of the activities have also been identified, which has sparked widespread problem. “

China’s He won triathlon gold at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou and is his government’s record holder for the entire workout.
