ASNB, Jewel Digital Ventures launch virtual hackathon

Amanah Saham Lokal Berhad (ASNB), the wholly-owned unit trust management company associated with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and Treasure Digital Ventures Sdn. Bhd. (JDV), the particular wholly-owned subsidiary of PNB to spearhead its digital company strategy, launched the joint digital hackathon, Hack-A-Tech 2022.  

Within a joint statement, the companies said this hackathon which is co-organised with 1337 Ventures Sdn Bhd will be kept from Oct 14 to Oct 16, and is aimed at motivating innovation and software program development in financial technologies (fintech).  

The final demonstration day on April 29 will focus specifically on fintech ideation and development, they added.

The Hack-A-Tech 2022 event brings fintech leaders plus technology partners to collaborate with skills from various professions. The challenge is split into two groups namely:

  • Open up Track: Open to developers, item designers, first-time hackathon participants, students, and university or advancement labs to improve or introduce new digital functionalities, features, plus product offerings; and
  • Advanced Track: Open to start-ups interested in integrating plus co-creating new products plus services.

According to chief executive officer and executive director of ASNB Muzzaffar Othman, the Hack-A-Tech event will be an exciting platform for the corporation to encourage and invite strategic relationships or collaboration using the fintech industry.

Chief technology official of JDV Azrul Rahim said JDV prioritises innovation at the core of everything it does since it believes in staying ahead of the curve by finding your way through the future.

Involvement in the virtual hackathon is free as well as the closing date suitable for registration is a single October 2022.
