Mohamed Fayyaz, a passenger, told CNA he had left for work twenty days earlier than usual, in anticipation of Thursday’s disturbance.
He was taking a trip from Kallang to Choa Chu Kang, which would normally take him around 1.5 time.
He had to get the East-West Line station from Kallang to Buona Vista because of the disturbance, followed by a bridge vehicle to Jurong East and then the North-South Line to Choa Chu Kang.
When CNA spoke to him at 7.30am at Buona Vista MRT place, he had already been travelling for 1 minute.
” I did n’t expect it to be so crowded ( at Buona Vista )”, said the 23-year-old.
” But I mean, these things happen once in a while”.
