Set to help companies achieve their carbon neutrality objectives

Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone associated with Alibaba Group, has announced the global launch of Energy Expert, a sustainability platform that the company claimed can help customers worldwide calculate, analyse and take care of the carbon exhausts of their business routines and products.

In the statement, the company mentioned this software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering also offers actionable insights plus energy saving recommendations to assist customers accelerate their sustainability journeys.

This initiative is aligned with Alibaba’s co2 neutrality pledge, which was unveiled last year, this added.

Alibaba said it pioneered the “Scope 3 +” concept and has pledged to share its energy-efficient technology with its customers and business partners, uniting them in their collective efforts to reduce carbon footprint.

Chen Lijuan, common manager of item and solutions with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence said Energy Expert is designed to help businesses achieve their co2 neutrality goals via advanced technologies and streamlined solutions.

“We hope our tested innovation can be helpful for the global customers to achieve their net zero targets through insightful actions and informed sustainability practices, ” he said.

The company stated Energy Expert helps customers automate the particular carbon accounting plus reporting process in a corporate and item level, and obtain current sustainability impact statistics for them to make advised decisions.

It also enables customers to identify the sources of the co2 emissions from their daily business activities along with the full life cycle of their products, in line with the PAS 2060 plus ISO 14064 specifications on carbon neutrality, it claimed.

According to Alibaba, customers can also quantify their carbon footprint through a pre-built calculation model leveraging public emission factors datasets and Energy Expert’s proprietary datasets.

It offers visibility into their real-time carbon emission designs and the progress of the sustainability performance via visualisations on dashboards and online reviews, the company said.

Additionally , the answer provides analytics on energy efficiency plus emission forecasts via deep learning-based AI models hosted on Alibaba Cloud, the company said.

To help customers reduce their overall environment impact, Energy Expert also offers actionable optimization plans with suggestions that balance company growth and environment impacts, it said.

Place include increasing the use of clean energy, reducing excessive electricity usage during peak moments and optimising the supply chain ranging from sourcing materials in order to shipping products, Alibaba said.

Energy Expert also works with recognised commercial organisations worldwide such as TÜV Rheinland to give authoritative online carbon footprint accounting and certification, helping customers to easily validate and communicate their own energy saving progress with stakeholders.
