
SINGAPORE: Ms Jacqueline Poh will be appointed chief executive of JTC Corporation, succeeding Mr Tan Boon Khai, the Ministry of Trade and Industry ( MTI ) said on Friday ( Feb 21 ).
Ms. Poh may take over as CEO-designate of JTC on March 1 and begin serving as CEO on April 1. She will also be appointed in an ex-officio power as a member of the JTC table.
She takes over from Mr Tan, who is stepping down as JTC CEO on Mar 31 to “pursue another interests”, said MTI.
On March 1, Ms. Poh will move along from her present position as managing director of the Economic Development Board. She was originally slated to , join MTI as deputy secretary ( industry ) from the same date, as announced by MTI in November 2024.
However, she did then get on the visit at JTC instead, according to Mr Tan stepping down from his position,  , an MTI spokeswoman said in response to CNA’s questions.
The government did not provide more details about its plans for the deputy director position.
Prior to joining EDB, Ms. Poh served as the former director of the former Infocommunications Development Authority and the former head of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore ( GOVTech ).
She even held important positions in three ministries- labor, financing and defence.
She joined EDB as its coordinating producer on Oct 4, 2021, and led the company to achieve powerful funding commitments during Singapore’s financial recovery from the COVID-19 epidemic, said MTI.
During her tenure, EDB collaborated attentively with numerous partner organizations to advance crucial topics like sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy.
She also strengthened Singapore’s position on the global business landscape and strengthened EDB’s partnership with world leaders in important sectors, particularly in the engineering and startup sectors.
MR TAN’S Achievements TO JTC
Mr Tan joined JTC on Sep 1, 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and has led it to provide different COVID-19 response measures in industries important for Singapore to remain resilient and to recover highly, said MTI.
Under his management, JTC completed professional lands such as Punggol Digital District, as well as key business structures such as CleanTech Three, to support business growth.
He even spearheaded the effort to revitalize Singapore’s professional business by promoting new lands like the Jurong Innovation District and Woodlands North Coast, while also keeping in mind the revitalization of old business holdings.
Through digitalization and the adoption of technology, he even increased efficiency in JTC’s procedures.

Ms. Poh was also welcomed by Mr. Siow to JTC.
