Tradenation luxury goods scam: Second man charged with helping fugitive flee Singapore

SINGAPORE: A second man has been charged  on Saturday (Jul 30) with helping a suspect allegedly involved in the Tradenation luxury goods scam to flee Singapore.

Malaysian Mohamad Fazli Abdul Rahman, 38, faces one charge associated with engaging in a conspiracy theory with lorry driver Mohamed Alias to set up for Singaporean Pi Jiapeng to hide within the container compartment of the Malaysian registered van to leave Singapore without presenting his passport.

Professional indemnity was arrested final month for supposed cheating offences. Together with his wife, Thai nationwide Siriwipa Pansuk, they will fled the country upon Jul 4, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said previously.

Lorry driver Mohamed Parallelbezeichnung, 40, was charged earlier this 30 days with helping Pi and Pansuk to flee Singapore.

The Singapore Police Force said on Friday that Mohamad Fazli was arrested within Malaysia “with strong cooperation and the help of the Royal Malaysia Police”.  

If convicted, Mohamad Fazli could be jailed for between 6 months and two years, and fined up to S$6, 000.  

LUXURY GOODS RIP-OFF

Police arrest warrants and Interpol red notices   have been issued against Pi and Pansuk, after a minimum of 180 police reviews involving two businesses, Tradenation and Tradeluxury, were made considering that June.

The particular complainants said these people made advance obligations for luxury watches or bags, but they did not receive the items.

While some press reports said the entire value of the undelivered luxury watches and bags was S$32 million, CNA understands that victims who made police reports have not received goods really worth at least S$20 mil as of Jul seventeen.
