Supreme Court hears event brought by the Nakhon Si Thammarat Election Commission
Mukdawan Luengsinil, a Bhumjaithai MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, has been suspended from work after the Supreme Court accepted a vote-buying circumstance against her.
Before the regular House meeting on Thursday, House Speaker Wan Muhammad Noor Matha announced the disqualification.
Following accusations that Ms. Mukdawan offered money in exchange for seats and march presence during her promotion next year, the Nakhon Si Thammarat department of the Election Commission issued a ruling in December.
The Election Commission requested in a March court case that the Supreme Court order a new poll in Constituency 8 with expenses to be paid by the prospect. The petition also included a request to have Ms Mukdawan’s right to challenge elections.
The Supreme Court, in the opinion of Mr. Wan, accepted the situation on July 5, which in turn caused the MP to be suspended until the jury trials are finished.
