Japan based Leave a Nest Group (LVNS) has introduced the Center of Garage Malaysia (CoGMY), a pioneering initiative set to revolutionise the Deep Tech Ecosystem in Malaysia. CoGMY is poised to position Malaysia as a worldwide epicentre for knowledge and deep tech manufacturing.
Abdul Hakim Sahidi, Managing Director of LVNS Malaysia, explained that CoGMY is a ground-breaking incubation ecosystem, a place where deep technology startups, manufacturers, and industry converge to foster collaborative growth. Its primary objective is to serve as an ecosystem providing comprehensive support to expedite innovation among deep technology startups on a global scale.
By combining Japanese technology with local manufacturing and knowledge sectors, businesses engaged with CoGMY will be better equipped to implement a global strategy to address challenges in the Asian region and beyond. The African continent is one market.
Dr Maru Yukihiro, Group CEO of Leave a Nest Group said, “We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AO Alliance Holdings, our African partner, to create an ecosystem where technology from Japan, Malaysia, and other ASEAN countries can empower the African region. Through this expansion, we aspire to elevate not only Africa’s economy but that of all ASEAN nations.”
Maru emphasised Malaysia’s strategic position as a connecting hub for Japan-ASEAN countries and its relevance to Africa for the exchange of knowledge, talent development, and technology transfer.
The partnerships forged within CoGMY are founded on robust relationships, with strong support from global industry leaders such as Mitsubishi Electric, Kobashi Industries, Euglena, Real Tech Holding, Glocalink Singapore, Malaysia’s Aerodyne Group as well as Malaysian manufacturing partners including Micro Precision Manufacturing, Pica Manufacturing Solutions, and Zull Design Autotronics.
LVNS has also formed a strategic alliance with Cyberview, the Tech Hub Developer of Cyberjaya, with a keen focus on fortifying innovation and technology in Malaysia, particularly in Cyberjaya. Leveraging Cyberview’s support, along with local companies, multinational corporations, and government agencies, LVNS has set an ambitious target to generate US$20.97 million (RM100 million) in economic impact through a range of development initiatives.
“Cyberjaya, with its reputation as a premier choice for innovative companies, promises a bright future for Malaysia,” said Hakim. “In addition to its robust infrastructure, a thriving innovation ecosystem will be a pivotal driver of growth for this rapidly growing city,” he added.
CoGMY aspires to be a key ecosystem in propelling innovation and economic growth within the global deep tech industry. With formidable partnerships and a crystal-clear vision, LVNS said it is confident that CoGMY is positioned to make a lasting impact on Malaysia’s economic landscape.
