has been named “Most Outstanding Company in Malaysia – Consumer Discretionary Sector” in the Asiamoney “Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll 2022” at an award ceremony held in Singapore recently.
Group chief executive officer Adrian Ong said said: “We strongly believe for our business to be sustainable, we must cultivate a performance-driven culture underpinned by strong governance frameworks, while ensuring a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.
“This award recognises our commitments in these areas, and therefore is one that we highly value.”
“This recognition would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of all our team, especially the business unit heads that drive day-to-day management and operations. I dedicate this award to them, with my utmost thanks,” Ong said in a statement.
He said while the retail and business operating environment continued to be challenging, the group remained focused on its promise of bringing everyday essentials to the rakyat at convenient locations, at ‘Always Low Prices’.
“We are on track to open 180 new stores this year, as part of our mission to bring modern retail concepts to as many Malaysians as possible at ‘Always Low Prices’.
“This will make it possible for them to stretch their Ringgit without having to compromise on their family’s everyday needs. This accolade is testament that our efforts have not gone unnoticed,” Ong said.
