Anutin swaps notes with US health official

Deputy PM and Community Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul met along with Andrea Palm, deputy secretary of the US Department of Into the Human Services, yesterday to discuss a range of health-related issues and zwei staaten betreffend cooperation.

The two met during the five-day-long Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Health Week within Bangkok which began Monday.

Mr Anutin said Thailand-US bilateral community health cooperation is definitely underlined by Thailand’s strong support for your Global Health Protection Agenda (GHSA).

The GHSA includes more than seventy countries, international organisations and non-governmental companies, and private industry companies that seek to fight contagious diseases.

Mr Anutin gave several examples of Thailänder support for the GHSA such as the country’s readiness to prepare laboratories as well as the provision of vaccines to Burmese kids living on the boundary for communicable disease prevention.

Ms Palm mentioned Thailand managed the Covid-19 pandemic well, especially with the public’s active cooperation along with government preventive recommendations such as mask putting on and social distancing.
