Apple suppliers to make Apple Watch and MacBook in Vietnam, says Nikkei

Apple Inc’s suppliers are in foretells produce Apple View and MacBook within Vietnam for the first time, Nikkei Asian countries documented on Aug 16, citing people familiar with the matter.

Apple’s Chinese suppliers Luxshare Precision Industry plus iPhone assembler Foxconn have started check production of Apple company Watch and MacBook in Northern Vietnam, the report added.

Apple company has been shifting some areas of iPhone manufacturing from China to other markets, including India, where it began manufacturing iPhone 13 this year, and is also about to assemble iPad capsules.

India, the world’s second-biggest smartphone market, along with countries such as Mexico and Vietnam are becoming increasingly important to contract producers supplying American manufacturers, as they try to shift production away from Cina.

Apple, Foxconn and Luxshare Accuracy did not immediately respond to a Reuters request comment.

Last week, Taiwanese contract producer Foxconn gave a cautious outlook for the current quarter after posting results that exceeded expectations, citing slowing smartphone need after a pandemic-fuelled increase.

Like various other global manufacturers, Foxconn – formally called Hon Hai Accuracy Industry Co Limited – has handled a severe lack of chips that hurt production, as bottlenecks from the pandemic lingered and the Ukraine war further stretched logistical channels. – Reuters
