Before the gang’s arrest, authorities seized drugs intended for South Korea from some of the other members. In the interim, they discovered that more medications were to be sent from Tha Bo, near the Laos border to a gang member in Bangkok before being shipped overseas.
In the northern state, soldiers closely monitored the suspects ‘ movements. Police showed up and asked to examine Mr. Somphong’s package when he arrived at a nearby Home Fresh store in Tha Bo.
213 sunblock containers had cocaine stuffed inside them, according to the search. The medication weighed 22 kilos in full, said Pol Lt Gen Sarayut.
The suspect, who is 70 years old, has been accused of illegally possessing cocaine for sale. He was turned over to the Tha Bo authorities place for legal actions.
Mr. Somphong claimed to have been hired by a man in Laos for 4,000 baht to deliver the package to a Bangkok sender during questioning.
