For Singaporeans that have not provided their own bank accounts or linked their NRICs to PayNow, GovCash will replace cheques as the mode associated with payment from this calendar year.
Those people on GovCash may withdraw their GSTV – Cash and GSTV – Money Special Payment on OCBC ATMs islandwide by entering their own payment reference amount that will be sent to them at the end of August and NRIC.
They cannot require an OCBC bank account to pull away the payment on the ATMs, said MOF.
“GovCash recipients can also use the LifeSG app to make transaction to merchants simply by scanning their PayNow or NETS QR code, or move payments to their bank accounts via PayNow when they subsequently register for PayNow-NRIC, ” it added.
The ministry said that the Aug GSTV – Money and GSTV – MediSave payments are part of the Government’s ongoing support for lower-income and elderly Singaporeans, to help with their GST expenses and expenses of living.
It noted that will in addition , entitled Singaporeans would have received CDC Vouchers, two tranches of U-Save and S& CLOSED CIRCUIT rebates and top-ups to their Edusave account or Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) earlier this year.
“They can get further support in the form of cash payouts, utilities credits, top-ups in order to Child Development Accounts (CDA), and one more two tranches associated with U-Save and S& CC rebates in the coming months, inch said the ministry.
