Yaowarat Road in Bangkok’s Chinatown has been rated among the top ten “coolest” street to visit, for the history, food and routines, by Time Out.
Rue Wellington in Montreal, Europe was No . one
The particular magazine on tourism, food, culture and communities surveyed twenty, 000 city dwellers worldwide when obtaining its rankings.
The Thai capital’s famous Chinese-influenced road ranked 8th in “the planet’s coolest streets in 2022” category.
Time Out explained it as “One of Bangkok’s oldest thoroughfares, with a background that dates back to the city’s foundation, Yaowarat Road winds and curves through Bangkok’s riverside Chinatown”.
“Lined along with neon signs and bustling day or night, this cultural hub is home to temples, restaurants, markets and legions of acupuncturists and dispensers of Chinese medicine. It’s been a street food lovers’ favourite for generations. ”
