World leaders congratulate Lawrence Wong on becoming Singapore’s new Prime Minister

MALAYSIA

Indonesian Deputy Prime Minister&nbsp, Zahid Hamidi congratulated Mr Wong in a Facebook post on Wednesday. &nbsp,

He said that under Mr Wong’s command,” we are convinced that Singapore may continue to thrive and live”.

Mr. Zahid added that he looks forward to furthering their cooperation in fields like industry, education, and socioeconomic development.

Additionally, another Malaysian officials expressing their gratitude to Mr. Wong, including Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh.

JAPAN

Fumio Kishida, the prime minister of Japan, congratulated Mr. Wong and stated his intention to work together to improve diplomatic relations.

Mr. Kishida stated in his welcome email on Wednesday that this is in view of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Japan-Singapore diplomatic relations in 2026.
