Worker dies after steel bars fell on him at RTS Link station worksite

After an incident at the upcoming Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS ) Link&nbsp, station worksite on Thursday ( Jun 27 ), one construction worker died and one was hurt in Singapore.

The Land Transport Authority ( LTA ) informed CNA on Friday that both workers were struck by steel bars while carrying out pilecap steel reinforcement at the worksite at RTS Link Woodlands North.

At around 9.30am, the metal bars” swayed and fell onto two staff”, said LTA.

According to CNA’s questions, the Singapore Civil Defence Force and the officers responded to a request for assistance at around 9:30 am.

The 48- yr- old Bangladeshi contractor was brought to Woodlands Health Campus Hospital motionless, where he immediately died.

His 49- yr- ancient co- worker, who was conveyed aware to the same hospital, &nbsp, sustained slight injuries and has been discharged.

A safety time-out has been scheduled to examine and increase the safety procedure, according to LTA.

The ministry of manpower ( MOM) and the police are being aided in their investigations by the authority.

LTA is even assisting the family of the deceased by working with both the principal company and the subcontractor.
