Worker at Jurong Island demolition site dies after being struck by large concrete block

A massive concrete wall struck a 58-year-old construction employee at a demolition page on Jurong Island on Thursday, killing her.

At around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to a request for assistance at 3 Seraya Avenue.

A contractor was struck by a sizable block of concrete while using a drill digger during construction, according to SCDF.

An SCDF nurse later declared the employer dead at the scene.

The workplace incident involved a 58-year-old Thai construction worker, the Ministry of Manpower ( MOM) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA ) said in response to CNA’s query&nbsp, on Friday.

When one of the structures toppled onto the archaeologist and struck the employee, the employer was operating a drilling archaeologist to abolish material structures, according to the joint statement.

MOM and BCA&nbsp are looking into any potential violations of the Building Control Act and the Workplace Safety and Health Act.

” MOM has issued a stop-work get for the site. Additionally, BCA has instructed the qualified people to send a thorough inspection review of the incident and has revoked the force that was issued to the contractor.

Aik Sun Demolition and Engineering is the tenant and company of the dying worker.

As a public security measure, the dismantling of structures may be properly planned and done consistently, said MOM and BCA.

They continued,” This includes creating a program with a detailed sequence and demolition from top to bottom to prevent any excessive and unexpected collapse of structures.”
