US, Japan, Philippines condemn Beijing's South China Sea moves in summit

We express our deep concern about the South China Sea’s dangerous and violent behaviour by the People’s Republic of China. The South China Sea’s militarization of restored capabilities and unlawful sea states are also preoccupring, the nations said in a speech following the mountain.

A Chinese diplomat was summoned to rally the comments, and China’s foreign ministry spokesman Mao Ning said the declaration amounted to a “wanton smear attack.”

Last month, there were several sea run-ins between the Philippines and China, including warmed verbal exchanges and the use of water cannons. The conflictes center on the Second Thomas Shoal, where a small number of Filipino soldiers were stationed on a ship that Manila abandoned that in 1999 to further its claims to independence.

Biden stated at the White House that a mutual defense agreement between Washington and Manila from the 1950s may require the US to listen to an armed attack on the Philippines in the South China Sea.

His statement read,” The United States ‘ defense commitments to Japan and the Philippines are iron clad.”

By stating that the treaty would use to disputes in that sea, Marcos has effectively persuaded Washington to handle long-standing ambiguity over it.
