A 37-year-old American has been detained by the police and will be tried there on major assault and kidnapping charges.
Selva Mudaliar  was detained on Monday at a condo building in the Bang Phlad region, according to Pol Maj Gen Saruti Kwaengsopa, the head of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division.
According to authorities, Mr Mudaliar is wanted in the state of Oregon, where he is accused in some cases involving alleged force, physical abuse, suffocation, abduction and improper detention.
He had frequently changed his target before arriving in Thailand in February, moving frequently to new hotels or room properties. He frequently visited Bangkok’s pleasure venues.
According to Pol Maj Gen Saruti, Mr. Mudaliar may become deported to the US.
