Tan Hee Meng may represent a 36-day jail sentence if he is unable to pay the fine.
Tan allegedly engaged in 19 counts of illegal hawking between May 2019 and March 2023 at various public locations, according to a media release from the Singapore Food Agency( SFA ) on Thursday, May 4.
He illicitly sold roasted chestnuts close to vehicle stops in Eunos’ Ubi and Bedok, a hawker center, as well as at East Coast Road, Onan Road and Marine Parade Central.
Tan continued to engage in illicit hawking activities, showing a clear disregard for the law, despite multiple enforcement actions taken against him, according to SFA.
Tan was & nbsp, who was previously found guilty in 2018 of comparable offenses, was fined S$ 3,600 and given a four-day jail sentence in default.
Food safety is at risk due to unchecked city selling, according to SFA, which also adds that it is” unable to guarantee” that the food satisfies its safety standards.
