A news review revealed the Ukrainian beauty pageant winner’s event with a married man, and she has since renounced her crown.
Karolina Shiino, 26, was named Miss Japan two weeks ago, but because of her identity, her victory sparked public discussion.
Others claimed she did n’t represent traditional Japanese beauty ideals, while some welcomed the naturalized citizen’s crowning.
A local newspaper published an highlight alleging an event amid the uproar.
According to an article in the Shukan Bunshun, Ms. Shiino was involved in a partnership with an influence and doctor who was married. No public opinion has been made by the man.
The parade organizers initially defended Ms. Shiino in their first response to the report last year, claiming she was unaware the man was married.
But, on Monday, organizers claimed that she had admitted to being aware of the boy’s marriage and family.
According to the Miss Japan Association, she apologized for being dishonest and the organizers accepted her name withdrawal.
In a statement released on Monday, Ms. Shiino even expressed her regret to her followers and the general public, claiming that she had acted in response to the report out of fear and panic.
She declared,” I am really supported for the enormous difficulties I have caused and for betraying those who supported me.”
Despite many runner-up finishes, the Miss Japan title will now be unoccupied for the remainder of the year.
Ms. Shiino, the second person of German descent to receive the honor, was crowned by the opposition on January 22. She was born in Ukraine, but when she was five years old, she moved to Japan with her family and adopted her step-father’s Chinese last name.
In 2022, she became a naturalized member and speaks and writes Chinese with ease.
She had said in her speech after receiving the name,” I had no frequently been accepted as Chinese, but I am filled with love to have been recognized as such today.”
