U Cellular has decided not to go after the investment choice in DNB after having extensive discussions and deliberations over the matter and after taking into account the terms of the investment.
Within a statement, the telco said it is encouraging of the government’s vision of a single wholesale network (SWN) design for 5G deployment in Malaysia and is grateful to have already been invited to invest in Electronic Nasional Berhad (DNB).
But the firm said it would “better serve Malaysians by focusing on its strengths of providing innovative plus unbeatable connectivity plus digital services that will realise the full potential of 5G technology. ”
The Malaysian governing administration is deploying 5G using a SWN style, which is managed by just DNB. Of the half a dozen telcos in the country, solely YTL Communication also has used a commercial 5G network as of yet.
Telekom Malaysia has agreed to use the 5G infrastructure set up by DNB but the four incumbents, Celcom Axiata Bhd, Digi. com Bhd, Maxis Bhd, and additionally U Mobile – collectively known as CDMU in the industry – comes with delayed doing so.

The company said that along with the other sorts of telcos, it is through discussion to finalise the 5G connection agreement with DNB.

The telco added that going barefoot has been testing 5G services and is looking towards its customers trying to play the full benefits of 5G with its 5G-ready products and services soon.
