As one of seven short-term measures to improve firearm power, Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced on Thursday that the government is suspending the issue of grants for importing and trading weapon, true and copy.

The actions are a response to public outcry after the shooting in Bangkok on Tuesday, in which two people were killed and five others were injured by teenagers brandishing modified plain weapons.

The short-term measures were decided upon at a meeting on Thursday at Government House that included representatives from various organizations, including the Royal Thai Police, Customs Department, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society ( DES ), and Minister of Public Health.

All current gun control laws will be reviewed and updated as necessary to ensure people health, according to Mr. Anutin, a deputy prime minister. Only authorized people may be allowed to take firearms in public, he continued.

Long-term actions to be taken, according to Karom Polpornklang, a deputy state spokesman, may contain amending the 1947 law on firearms, ammunition, explosive, fireworks, and imitation guns to tighten the regulations on the purchase and possession of such items.

The seven short-term objectives are:

1. The issue of permits for the importation and trade of both real and imitation firearms must be halted by all firearm registration officials across the country. For new candidates, no licenses will been issued.

2. 2. People who own bare, BB, or copy firearms that can be turned into real ones are required to show them to local firearm registration offices for recording.

3. The Customs Department is to intensify inspections of the import of BB guns, copy firearms, and blank guns.

4.. 4. All shooting ranges and sports associations in Thailand may be prohibited from allowing visitors under the age of 20 into their facilities without the authority’s authority. Every firearm brought to the amounts needs to be properly registered. It is forbidden to remove weapons from the peaks. Guns belonging to firing range members must only be kept inside the buildings with the appropriate authorization.

5. 5. Municipal administrators must no longer issue licenses for people to carry firearms in public.

6. There is no policy in place at the Ministry of Interior to oversee a program to distribute firearms to the general public. However, having one weapon each is required for government employees tasked with preventing and suppressing offense. The artillery did pass to their successors in the event of their passing.

7. Until more see, firearms enrollment officials are to prevent issuing permits for weapon shops to buy weapons and ammunition. Fresh gun shops won’t be permitted to open for the time being.

Additionally, Mr. Anutin requested that sites selling fake and illegal firearms be shut down by the police and the DES Ministry. Every 15 times, they are required to deliver progress reviews to the Interior Ministry.

Additionally, he has met with the Department of Provincial Administration( DPA ), which is in charge of licensing firearms across the country. The goal was to learn more about the laws that currently apply to people owning firearms as well as different kinds of weapons, such as empty guns, BB guns and toys that could be dangerous after changes.

The minister expressed his personal opinion that members of the general public shouldn’t be allowed to have or have firearms in public. He continued,” Only federal government should be permitted to do so.”

People shouldn’t be permitted to carry weapons round at their own discretion going forward, he said. There shouldn’t be any instances of people using firearms to sit disputes.

Minors shouldn’t be allowed to practice killing, he continued, and all capturing ranges must be strictly controlled.
