Sereepisuth: Post” violates law.”

The Seri Ruam Thai Party’s leader, Pol Gen Sereepisuth Temeeyaves, accused Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and other members of the Police Commission of appointing the new police chief against their will yesterday. The petition was submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission( NACC ).

Former police captain Pol Gen Sereepisuth was accompanied by his attorney, Ananchai Chaidet.

In the complaint, Mr. Srettha, the former chairman of the Police Commission, and nine other members are charged with improperly selecting Pol Gen Torsak by disobeying a rank law established by the police action.

Former police commissioners Damrongsak Kittiprapas, Chinnapat Sarasin, Manoo Mekmok, Winai Thongson, Wissanu Prasarttong-Osoth, the permanent repository for the interior Chatchai Promlert, Piyawat Sivaraks of the Civil Service, and Onfa Vejjajiva, a deputy national authorities chief, are among the other nine Commissioners.

According to Pol Gen Sereepisuth, the appointment violated Section 258 of the constitution, which states that the rank system ensures fairness and that normal reshuffles of senior brass result in the police operating independently and effectively.

He claimed that Pol Gen Torsak was the fifth rank candidate out of the four candidates who were selected on September 27.

According to him, Pol Gen Roy Ingkapairote was the most top, followed by the generals Surachate Hakparn and Kitrat Phanphet.

Pol Gen Sereepisuth stated that even though Mr. Srettha abstained from the ballot, he can still be held accountable because politician Gen Torsak was nominated for the position.

He declared that he would request that the NACC investigate whether wrongdoing in business and other associated offenses were crimes under Section 157 of the Criminal Code.

A senior government official called Mr. Ananchai and asked him to drop the case after he announced his defense of Pol Gen Surachate and eight police officials accused of participating in a community of illegal gambling sites.
